Header Photo Above: This Civil War Cannon once stood guard in the lobby of the Emmet County Building. When the Register of Deeds office was enlarged, it took a portion of the lobby, no longer leaving room for the cannon. The cannon was disassembled, and removed... who knows where it is? The ECBOC voted to reduce the Commissioner seats from two to one as reported in the 22 December 2020 board meeting minutes below.
